Privacy policy
This policy explains how Servio handles personal information and operational data through its public website and platform for restaurants and retail businesses. By using Servio, you acknowledge that you have read this policy.
1. Introduction
Servio operates a cloud platform for restaurant and retail POS and operations management. We process information to deliver the service, provide support, improve the platform, and respond to requests received through the website. This policy applies to the marketing site (useservio.io) and, when you are a customer, to your use of the Servio application. It does not replace personalized legal advice.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Servio, we may collect: - Account information: identifiers, roles, access settings, and organization preferences. - Contact information: name, email, phone, and other details you provide voluntarily. - Establishment information (restaurant or retail store): name, address, number of locations, and configuration data. - Employee information entered by customers: schedules, absences, lateness, notes, history, and other HR-related data your team enters in Servio. - Inventory and operational data: products, quantities, costs, receiving, waste, orders, and operational metrics. - Audit and compliance records: checklists, logs, findings, and follow-ups entered or generated in the platform. - Scheduling and workforce data: shifts, availability, staffing needs, and operational constraints. - Usage and technical information: connection logs, device and browser type, IP address, timestamps, and usage metrics needed to operate and secure the service. You remain responsible for the accuracy, lawfulness, and relevance of information you or your users submit in Servio.
3. How we use information
We use information only as necessary to: - Provide, configure, and maintain the Servio platform. - Support scheduling, operational tracking, inventory, purchasing, audits, and internal communications within your organization. - Produce reports, alerts, analytics, and AI-assisted recommendations where those features are enabled. - Respond to trial, support, and contact requests from the website. - Improve reliability, performance, and security of the service. - Meet legal obligations and protect our rights in reasonable disputes. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Analytics and performance monitoring
On the marketing website, we use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics solution designed to limit invasive tracking. Umami helps us understand site traffic (pages viewed, general trends) to improve content and experience, without aiming to individually identify public website visitors. Within the Servio application, we may also collect technical usage data required for diagnostics, security, and product improvement.
5. Legal basis and legitimate purposes
Depending on context, we process information to perform a contract or pre-contractual steps (trial, deployment, support), for legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement, customer relations), or with your consent where required by law. When you are an employer or manager, you are responsible for informing employees and obtaining any required authorizations before entering their information in Servio.
6. Data hosting and service providers
Servio relies on trusted providers for hosting, infrastructure, storage, email delivery, analytics, backup, and technical support. These providers may process information on our behalf under our instructions and reasonable contractual confidentiality and security obligations. We select partners with care but do not fully control their environments. A detailed list of subprocessors may be provided on request when relevant.
7. Data retention
We retain information as long as necessary to provide the service, meet obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type, contractual relationship, and applicable legal requirements. After subscription ends or upon a legitimate request, we may delete or anonymize certain data, subject to technical timelines, existing backups, and legal retention duties.
8. Security measures
We implement reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These may include access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, privilege limitation, and incident monitoring. No system offers absolute security. You must protect your credentials, limit access within your team, and promptly report suspected incidents to support@useservio.io.
9. Your rights
Depending on your situation and applicable law, you may request: - Access to personal information we hold about you. - Correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. - Deletion of certain information where permitted by law. - Withdrawal of consent where processing relies on consent and withdrawal is legally possible without preventing essential service delivery. To exercise your rights, email support@useservio.io. We may ask you to verify your identity. We will respond within reasonable timelines, subject to legal exceptions.
10. International transfers
Some providers may host or process information outside Quebec or Canada, including in the United States or other jurisdictions. In that case, information may be subject to local laws in those territories. Where required, we implement reasonable contractual or organizational measures to govern these transfers. By using Servio, you acknowledge this inherent risk of cloud services.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, our practices, or legal requirements. An effective date will be indicated when relevant. Continued use after a revised version is published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, unless the law requires otherwise.
12. Contact information
